FESA Learner Story: June Li

We’d like to share a Learner Story with you all today.

Meet June and Alex. June is an ESL Learner and her son Alex is 2 years old. June and Alex joined the Further Education Society’s (FESA) Parent Child Mother Goose/Literacy and Parenting Skills program hosted at the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre. They’ve been attending on a regular basis since Alex was 6 months old.

The program facilitator, Beibei Lu is a long time FESA Facilitator who has been with the organization for many years. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, FESA has moved the program online. As a result, Beibei is still able to provide the program for her learners and June and Alex can participate.

Here’s what June had to say:

“We are grateful for the program you lead. My kid feels involved and happy in this group. He learns many songs by pronunciation and gestures by action. He also spends many time to read at home by your guidance. The songs, the books and the friendship are crucial to the growing little ones.

Besides, the moms share our experience and ideas of raises which are practical and useful. During the pandemic period, your organization considerately arranges the online program teaching for the kids and moms when we are isolated at home. This is so so appreciated.

Thanks very much and see you soon.”

You are welcome June! We are very proud to offer you and all the other learners in Calgary access to such a valuable program, even during this time of COVID-19.
