Cooks with Stones at Canada Day 2023 in London, UK!
Cooks with Stones is going to London!
We’re excited to announce that our award-winning Cooks with Stones program has been invited by the High Commission of Canada in the UK, in partnership with Rainmaker – GBD, to represent Canada at Canada Day 2023 in London!
Indigenous youth and chefs from Cooks with Stones will be showcasing Indigenous cuisine and culture at Canada House to an international business community and to a global audience at the Canada Day Festival, in the world-famous Trafalgar Square.
Background on Canada Day, London 2023
On June 29th, an expected audience of over 50,000 people will come to Trafalgar Square to experience Canadian culture food, tourism, sport and more.
As part of the celebration, there will be an educational piece to highlight Indigenous People’s of Canada’s past, present, and future. This includes a celebration of the Cooks with Stones program (from a 5×5 metre tent) and a food truck serving a menu curated by Indigenous youth and Indigenous chef Scott Iserhoff from the Cooks with Stones program. We can’t wait to share the menu they come up with!
50% of the sponsored food truck proceeds will be donated to Cooks with Stones. Cooks with Stones Chef and youth will also be catering a lunch service for the business community and participating in a panel discussion celebrating Indigenous Culture in Canada at Canada House on June 27th.
